Suit Journal: |
Califur 2010 was a raging success. I spent so much time in suit, it never had time to dry. On the bright side, it was cool when I put it on. There comes a point where it becomes like a wet suit and the moisture pulls the heat directly from your body instead of the dry fur trapping all the hot air in.
July 4th parade. It was a gauntlet of children, dogs, adults, and performers. The limited vision in suit made it that much more difficult to watch where I was going and not trip over a kid or dog in the parade. I happened upon a fellow suiter, a dolphin, who no doubt was unwillingly forced into the role. I gave him one of my water bottles and bid him good luck. Back and forth across and up and down the street I ran, danced, cavorted, and generally made an ass out of myself for people's entertainment. Shaking hands, posing for pics, giving hi-5s, hugs...etc. Parade performing is nothing like being at a con. I feel like I spent an entire con's worth of activity on one 2-mile stretch of road.
